About "Pink Bombing"

The super-KIKI project began in 2011 with the creation of T-shirts using a home silkscreen printer. The aim was to share the issue of nuclear power more widely and to think with many people. Expressing and creating things. It is my joy in life, but at the same time, if we do not consider where this desire is heading, it will either be taken over by the violence of those in power, or will be easily marginalized and crushed. Are we not now standing on the precipice of freedom of expression?

The graffiti term "bombing" refers to the act of guerrilla-style drawing or writing on the streets, and by extension, to the rebellious spirit of protesting against the social system. Pink is the symbolic color of LGBTQ+. The experimental coined word "PINK BOMBING," which combines these two words, was chosen as the theme of this POP UP.

Our bodies are entangled in capitalism and cannot move. However, each body is also a land that no one can invade. PINK BOMBING also represents the strength of queerness that shakes itself and tries to free itself. Bombing with pink spray paint. I think it is an effective act against the actual bombs dropped by those in power. While firmly opposing the loss of all life, we need to think again about what and who created the words "terrorism" and "terrorist."

Some people may feel uncomfortable using violent language. However, I would like to speak out against the trend of being too afraid to fight with expression and falling into the trap of taking personal responsibility by saying, "Let's change ourselves rather than change society." Freedom is also a parameter of peace, and it is fragile and easily broken. When peace collapses, it is expression (culture) that is the first to be cut off.

We are doing our best just to survive. It is not your fault that you have no time to look after yourself and those around you. But bombing the system may be a shortcut to liberating yourself and society. It doesn't have to be direct action, so I want you to believe in the power of art, activism, and demonstrations. Wearing the messages here and talking to people you meet, or starting by telling yourself, will be your own power to move society. We are always looking for ways for you to participate and are calling out to you.
